On the road to Fethiye (has a gallery of its own) you will come by Patara. I went there not for the beach (which is great) but for the antique city.

I will not explain most of the pictures, since I cannot reconstruct what they portray. You get some impression of the wide plain the city sits in, and its extent. Also note the gate to the right of the picture. Along it runs the road to the highway (quite a walk if you don't have transport, as I found out).
