This is a fragment of a sarcophagus from the third century AD with erotes (Eros figures, they would later develop in the putti of Renaissance). For those in the know: compare these scenes to the Donatello choir in the Duomo museum in Florence, Italy. The theme there is Christian, but the inspiration may well have come from Bacchantic scenes like the ones on this sarcophagus.
