Nowadays I would have used a fill in flash, brightening their faces somewhat. The kids are interested in me, a yabanci or foreigner (turist is another word you hear whispered behind you back a lot): what is he doing, and why, and now he points his camera, he is not really taking a picture of us, or is he? Great fun for all concerned.
