Since the city follows the run of a small river and the space on either side is narrow, there are only a few streets that run in parallel. This is the one that takes all the traffic on its way from say Van to Diyarbakir or Siirt. In the middle distance the Şerefiye Mosque (16th century), that you can see on some more pictures.
