In the southeastern corner of the prayer hall stand 21 cenotaph sarcophagi from the 14th century. Among them, those of Mümine Hatun (Mevlâna’s mother), Gevher Hatun (his first wife), his elder brother, some of his grand-children and also of Seyfeddin Süleyman Bey, a Karamanoğlu bey, who died in 1357.
Aktekke Camii being the burial place of Mevlâna’s mother and other relatives, it is an important pilgrimage site.
