The group of these vessels was erroneously known as "Damascus ware" because of the resemblance to tiles in certain buildings in Damascus. They are decorated with large pomegranate and artichoke motifs freely drawn in Turquoise, sage green and purple, used here for the first time, on a white background. Mid-165th century, from Iznik.
