It must have been in the 1960’s that I first saw pictures taken with a circular fish eye lens. In 2018 I found Nikon came out with a 8-15 mm zoom, that at the 8 mm end produced that circular image. I bought one and decided domed buildings like the mausolea and mosques I like so much would be perfect to let it loose. This is one of the results.
This is the great hall of the hospital with bays and corner rooms set about a spacious pool. It is crowned by a dome. An orchestra would play to add to the kind atmosphere. It is worth noting the extravagant thickening of the triangular corners resulting from the hexagonal plan, typical of the Ottoman search for a considerable margin of safety.
