The Dedetepe Tumulus is from the fifth century BC when Persians controlled the region. A burial chamber within it was built with marble blocks joined by lead clamps. It housed two marble klinai (banqueting couches) with painted decoration. The tomb had been robbed at least twice, and showed to have been used repeatedly. Traces of a meal held in front of the tomb’s entrance seems to have been held, the wooden coffin seems to have been burned after a body was placed in the tomb.
