One of some new pictures I took in 2018. I started at the edge of the region, where some modern buildings were taking over from their small and old neighbours. I then went uphill (where university buildings made me go east), then descended a few hundred meters further. I passed a street with a new “Atatürk house”, I didn’t visit. Then gradually downhill to the Kurşunlu complex and central town.
Years ago I complained at the Topkapı Museum directorate, because I saw tourists place their shoes against priceless Ottoman tiles to get a more relaxed selfie. Here people ask to keep their well-painted wall fresh by not doing similarly.
