This mosque, very near the Covered Bazar, has the tallest minaret (47 meters) in Kayseri and was built – in Selcuk style - in the period of the Danişmend during the reign of Melik Muhammed Gazi (1134-1143), his mausoleum is along the soutrh wall of the building. Right next to it there is the Melik Gazi Medrese. The whole has seen a lot of restoration.
