I realize the region is on very valuable ground, and in 2016-17 it was becoming obvious that it will see major changes in the near future, with on one hand some public spaces appearing that will make it a joy to walk along the Golden Horn, on the other hand the destruction of the dilapidated, but ancient and wonderfully atmospheric buildings, to be replaced by expensive apartments.
