The Chamber of petitions. Conceived in the 16th century, present appearance 18th century. In this chamber the Sultan would have visiting ambassadors kiss the hem of his dress, though they would address the Grand Vezir in his stead.
Entrance on the Pişkeş Kapısı,“Gift-giving gate” of the hall. A signed inscription says “God suffices for us, He is the best Trustee”. It dates from 1810.
