Under the dome of the western bay there are four pendentives, each with one of four hymnographers whose hymns form part of the memorial service of the Orthodox Church. The furniture reflects 14th century furniture.

This is St. Joseph (ca. 810-883/886), composer of the Canon for the Akathistos Hymn, dedicated to the Virgin.
