Fethiye Rock graves 2016 6973.jpg

The tomb of Amynthas, son of Hermapias. It has been dated to the 4th century BC on epigraphic grounds. Its front is that of an “in antis” style Ionian temple. After walking a flight of stairs the tomb is reached climbing a 4 stepped crepidoma. A notice described some ornaments, most of which have been eroded beyond recognition.
The entrance to the burial is like that of a temple with an in antis plan. Wooden and metal ornaments have been imitated.
Small minds have been hard at work ruining more by exclaiming their craving for love on many surfaces. I’d like to advice Tuğre to avoid the idiot who paints large hearts all over the place at any price: if that’s how he treats a monument, imagine how he’ll treat you.
