One can get on a cemetery to the west of the Golden Gate with on either side a pylon (a square tower) and there take pictures. One will see the two pylons with a wall betseen them that holds the Golden Gate. In its front one can also see the exterior of a smaller gate that was later put in its front, to defend entrance to the area in front of the Golden Gate.
