Looking down on the so-called Palaestra Terrace, a large square of 73 x 85 m with the ruin of a Byzantine church (6th century AD ) at the centre. A two-naved portico surrounds the place with the stylobat and the foundations. The terrace had at least three precursors and overlies an antique sanctuary just below the church. One comes up the slope from the south and meets with the main street (width 4,9 m), which crosses all the area from west to east; this street is carefully paved and was constructed in the 2nd century BC. The place was modified into a terrace in the first century AD.
