We have now crossed Adnan Menderes Bulevard, and climb uphill towards Edirne Gate. There used to be a large gypsy neighbourhood here, but gentrification is demanding its toll, and instead there now are rather dull (but probably comfortable) houses and other facilities, I had the impression it also was a “gated community” (a form of residential community or housing estate containing strictly controlled entrances for pedestrians, bicycles, and automobiles, and often characterized by a closed perimeter of walls and fences). Not my cup of tea.
