The theatre was in impressive ruin when I first visited, in 2013 I found that the theatre building was somehow cleared, though not accessible, it was cordoned off. I still managed to take lots of pictures, showing the theatre building and the seating arrangements from many sides. Its construction seems to have lasted 150 years, Ophramoas of Rhodiapolis and Licinnius of Oenaonda were Lycian philanthropists who contributed to its completion. In two sections 38 rows of seats could seat 5600 viewers. It is of Roman design, and had a single diazoma and an arched entrance in the south. I could not find a date.

I walked on the wall along the backside of the theatre building, looking inside.
