At the Elmalı Bayindir tumulus two types of burial can be described, one was found in 1986 of a type where an artificial hill covers a stone centre, containing the ashes of the deceased as well as, in this case, important metal finds. In another type (excavated 1987) no ashes were found, it contained gifts in ivory, silver and bronze, surrounding a skeleton of a woman of about 20 years of age. If I read the notice correctly it is the finds from this latter I show here. The statuettes were dated 620-590 BC.
