The battle of Myriokephalon, a battle between the Byzantine Emperor Manuel I Komnenos and the Seljuk Sultan Kiliç Arslan II in 1176. Its main effect was that the Byzantine empire could no longer stop the Turks from conquering the Anatolian interior.
