The Kaya Çelebi Mosque dates from the 1660s. It was commissioned by Kaya Çelebi Zade Koçi Bey (died 1663) and finished by Cem Dedemoğlu Mehmet Bey. Its general appearance very much resembles the 100 years older Hüsrev Paşa Mosque, which stands at a short distance to the West.
In the foreground: Cut stones have been collected and numbered, to be used in the - then - ongoing restorations.
