Van 4073 12092012.jpg

Several buildings of the Hüsrev Paşa Külliyesi (complex) have been restored in the early 2010s. They were originally built in 1567 for Köse (Koca) Hüsrev Paşa, Beylerbeyi (Ottoman governor) at the time. The name of the architect of the complex is uncertain, but mostly the great Mimar Sinan is cited.

On the picture: The eastern wall of the medrese (high school) to the left, and the imaret (soup kitchen for the poor and the travellers) in the center.
In the background (to the right): the rock wall with the Van fortress on top of it.
