The Firdevs Bey Camii (mosque) seen from the northwest. Built in 1561 by Firdevs Paşa, Ottoman governor of Isparta. The architect was Mimar Sinan; hence its other name: Mimar Sinan Camii.
The mosque was restored in 1783, and underwent some more repairs after an earthquake in 1914.
The porch on the north side, covered by five small domes, is the mosque’s ‘son cemaat yeri’ (= ‘area for those who came late’), where worshippers who reached the mosque late or at the last moment, will gather and fulfill their prayer duty.
