Early Phrygian iron implements
The term “Iron Age” indicates the era when Iron has replaced bronze as the material of choice for tools and other implements. The burned buildings of the Phrygian citadel well attest that Gordion was fully in the Iron Age, for the quantity and variety of the iron implements are great, whereas bronze tools are rare.
