The area around the fortress had its buildings cleared. In 2014 I read that an ancient underground city had been found as a result of these clearings, surrounding the fortress. A picture in the article was taken only meters downhill from where I took this one. Might I have been the first man to detect the underground city, if only I had descended a bit further downhill?
