This is the princes in some "historical" statue. I have often remarked, and will keep doing so, that Turkish authorities seem to be busy "improving" public space by, amongst other things, erecting statues of all kinds. That in itself wouldn't be too bad, but the statuary sometimes is artistically abysmal (I think this one is), and to make matters worse they are generally made of some bronze-painted material, glass fibre or such. After a - short - while the bronze paint flakes off, or worse, the material just disintegrates. Then you have an eye sore where formerly there was just some flowers or shrubbery.
