view map

To the right is the Tomb of the Harpies, a monolithic support with on top a sarcophagus that has low reliefs on its sides. They are gypsum copies of originals in the British Museum. The “harpies” in reality represent Sirens, winged creatures, part woman, part bird, they accompany the souls of the dead to the netherworld.

To the left a pillar tomb with a 4th century BC sarcophagus on its top.
