The Inscribed Stele from 425-400 BC stands near the eastern corner of the agora. It is a monument consisting of a single block of stone for a base, with inscriptions in Lycian and Greek and contain the longest text in Lycian known. The 250 lines of text probably told of the heroic deeds of Prince Kherei. The grave chamber was decorated with reliefs. There are traces of a statue on top of the block. One thinks there may have been a representation of the Prince seated on a lions’ throne.
