This is one of only a few shots I took at the Mecidiye Pavilion, built in 1840 by Abdül Mecit (who shortly after would have the Dolmabahçe Palace built, if only he had been satisfied with this pavilion he would have spared his country a crippling expense).
It houses a restaurant, toilets and such, and I find it dull. The views from its balcony are breathtaking, though, so I keep taking pictures there. I am not the only one as you can imagine.
