A statue of of a victorious Roman emperor, Hadrian, originally from Hierapytna in Crete. Victorious, because he is wearing the laurel wreath of victory and has a subjugated barbarian at his feet.

His cuirass is of particular interest because it shows the she-wolf with Romulus and Remus and standing on her back being crowned by winged victories is the Palladium. It is very unusual to find Hadrian in military dress because he did not fight any wars as emperor, only during Trajan's campaigns against the Dacians.
