First some pictures of the village near the bus stop. I did not comb its streets so do not know its size. It looked pleasant enough, people I spoke with were content.

The village of Çavdarhisar became a (small) town in 1991, when it was promoted to the status of a ‘ilçe’ (provincial district). Nevertheless it is still largely rural, and subject to the exodus to the cities – a widespread phenomenon in Turkey. This is reflected in the official counts of the city’s population: 4.700 (in 2000) - 3200 (in 2012).
The Merkez Camii (Mosque of the city center) is the most recent and the largest of Çavdarhisar’s mosques; obviously great compared to the city’s population…
