Ahmedi Hani Türbesi

It is estimated that Ahmedi Hani was born in 1651 in the Han village near Hakkari. It is thought that the name Hani was taken from this village or from the Haniyan family, members of the Hani tribe, living here. Hani traveled to many places in Eastern Anatolia and studied Arabic, rhetoric and religious sciences; He was also interested in astronomy. Ahmedi Hani, who lived in Cizre, the cultural center of the region, for a while and wrote his mesnevi named Mem û Zîn there, later went to Eski Bayazıt (Doğubayazıt) and died there.

A mausoleum belonging to Ahmed-i Hani is located at the top of İshak Pasha Palace, 8 kilometers from Doğubayazıt. It is one of the most visited shrines in the region.
