The Hula Valley is an agricultural region with abundant fresh water. It is an important site for birds migrating among Africa, Europe, and Asia.
The Naftali Mountains are in the Upper Galilee.

The Golan Heights is in the northeast part of Israel. It was occupied by Israel after the Six Day War with Egypt, Jordan and Syria in June, 1967. Before that war, the Golan Heights was Syrian.
