Amalfi Coastline and Towns
(Coastline - the Tyrrhenian Sea which flows into the Mediterranean Sea.)
Lemons grown on terraces on coast since 15th cent. Lemons from coast more scented and less sour than lemons from elsewhere.
Piazza in Minori: Minori (from the 10th c.) served as the dockyards for Amalfi when Amalfi was a maritime power.
Minori: Seen here is the entrance (lower building) to a Roman villa (1st cent. a.d.), discovered by chance in 1932.
Maiori: Ally of Amalfi in the 10th c. Hotels and apartments line the longest beach on the Amalfi Coast.

Amalfi Coast & Amalfi Drive: Views of the Amalfi Coast supposedly are some of the most beautiful in the world. No argument here.

Cetara: From 9th cent. Seen is the dome of St. Peter's Church with its 13th cent. bell tower.
Cetara: Known for its fishing traditions. Anchovies caught by local fisherman and processed here.
Vietri: The easternmost town on the Amalfi Coast - close to Salerno. Famous for ceramics since the 15th century.

Salerno: From 194 b.c. Big city and administrative center for the area. Also is a major shipping port.
