What do you imagine this image is about??? let me know first.. and below i will share

what i believe about this image

and ??? would you photo shop out the branches in the foreground?

so... this shot was taken dec 1 2002, it is one of my very first digital images ever taken and was taken on the day my family and i celbrteated thanksgiving... and the day i last drank...

i believe this image reveals the power of any single entity... and how that power can absorb and radiate light and warmth... and how that can spread in our world

i believe that the single oak leaf fell on the pond snow... and that the light of the sun was captured by that single leaf... and that the leaf held enough light and heat to radiate that warmth outward in an expanding circle/galaxies and created somthing brand new and powerful on hte cold face of the snow

what do you see and believe and imagine from this image... and have you ever observed this phenomonon yourself... and do you think that is indeed how this cirlce appeared and was created???
ps i believe that my not drinking since that day has created my own new journey and am grateful today for that

I say leave the branches. They give a sense of connection rather than isolation. The more I look at this image the more I really like it. Nice, and congratulations!!

The branches are part of the story. They ground and place an image that would be abstract without them I think you are very correct in all you have said here. Your mind is as warm and generating as the leaf that modifies its world. Toni

... but I doubt that a leaf could store and radiat that amount of warmth. I have observed this being true around stones in snow, especially towards spring in the mountains. I suppose there was a wet spot on the ground or ice so the snow melted as it fell on it. The leaf is there by random. Perhaps I'm too down to earth?

Very nice image. I'm a cloner, so I would loose the branches. Interesting theory...

Very cool image Don.

Beautiful and simple and cold. And I buy your explanation. Well put.

Powerful image and powerful thought. I'm ambivalent about the branches - but I think they keep the dark area from appearing too isolated, so overall they may add to the power of the image.

i think you are exactly right about how this happened. thank goodness for your sobriety so that you can absorb and radiate light and warmth...and spread that in the world to others. selah...

Great shot with the branches.

Although I would consider PSing out the water mark on the ice on the RHS

Thanks for the background to the image

Snow on a frozen lake.
Don't take away the branches.
