Having spent much of the week in urbanality and airplanes, I took to the mountains early on an October Saturday morning and climbed the Stowe Pinnacle. Had the mountain essentially to myself on the hike up and at the summit - as I like it - and then smiled at ascenders as I made my way down. Slipping on a rock facing coming down grabbed my attention, but I was fortunate to keep the camera unscathed and come away with only a contusion/abrasion. Knees held up, wearing the braces coimg down helps. At 3.7 miles round trip, it's a relatively short climb up a rocky path that is steep in sections to a small bald pinnacle with a pretty view. With the elevation gain, it's rated "more challenging" in Lisa Densmore's guide to hiking the Green Mountains. So nice to immersed amidst nature's playground.
