The rescheduled doubleheader with LeMoyne started strong for SMC -- who took a 0-0 tie into the top of the 5th. LeMoyne erupted for 7 runs and then held off a vailiant SMC comeback attempt as the game ended 7-2. Game2 was also close into the mid-innings, when LeMoyne erupted again. Again, SMC battled back vailiantly, but fell 13-7. Steph and Lauren shared game1 on the mound; KellyE and Steph shared game2. SMC banged out 19 of the combined 50 hits on the day, but also committed 6 of the 9 errors as each team gave the other additional chances to take advantage of basehits. Steph paced the offense with a Harkin's-esque 7 hits including her first ever HR. MegC had a triple, Ellen had a pair of doubles, Carleen had a double, and Kate added a single and run scored. The Purple Knights continue to battle, regardless of the score, as there is no quit in these girls -- making them fun to watch and easy to root for.

For the first time in a loooong time, the real world interfered and I missed an opening pitch ... But I made it down and saw all the scoring -- the photos pick up midway through game1. And for the first time in more than two years I'm a day late in putting up game photos ... and the lighting was tough and the photos are mediocre -- sorry about that!
