After a wonderful Senior Day Celebration, the Purple Knights battled AIC in a pair of close games. SMC won the opener, 1-0, with Stephanie spinning a gem of a 7-hit shutout while being supported by brilliant defense around the diamond. Katelyn celebrated her senior day in style with SMC's only hit off the AIC ace, blasting an RBI double off the centerfield fence to score KellyL with the game winner. The nightcap was equally close -- with a 1-1 game going into extra innings as KellyE and Steph shared the duties on the mound. AIC pulled ahead in the 8th, but SMC rallied to tie it again in the bottom of the 8th. AIC pulled ahead again in the 9th, and this time, was able to hold off the Purple Knight rally to earn the split. Seniors KellyE and LindsayB each celebrated their senior days with a pair of hits and a run scored for Mikes, while KateC and LindsayH added clutch RBI doubles. Senior Heather celebrated her senior day by anchoring the defense behind the plate and gunning down a would-be basethief.
