SMC finished Fall Ball 09 on a strong note, with a pair of wins over Norwich in a doubleheader of 9-inning games. Hillary and KellyE were strong on the mound in Game 1, as SMC took a 5-3 victory. Stephanie and Lauren were strong on the mound in Game 2, as SMC took a 12-4 (ish?) win. Each Purple Knight contributed -- good pitching, nice plays in the field, and solid at bats were the story of the day -- LindsayH had a big triple, Stephanie had multiple hits, KellyE crushed a double, I lost track of the details ... Well, except for Kate's - she had 4 hits on the day, 3 stolen bases, 3 runs scored, 4 rbi, a few nice catches, and threw a runner out at home from centerfield. Nice day, Sev!

Playing Norwich is particularly enjoyable, as the Cadets feature 3 players from the Vermont Rockets (former teammates of many Knights in summer ball): WhitneyG, HallieG, and MacP. Naturally, I took some photos of our friendly rivals as well.

A very nice round of Fall Ball for SMC -- a promising start. Looks like it will be a fun Spring, as this group is easy to root for and plays hard. GO MIKE'S!!!
