SMC opened their final day of Fall Ball by hosting the Norwich Lady Cadets. A close game with SMC ahead turned into a marathon on a beautiful morning as the teams played until the next opponent arrived -- getting in 12 innings, with Norwich pulling ahead at the very end. MegO and KatieW both threw well for the Knights, it was great to see respected rival MacKenzie Pratt in action, but the game was marred by a nasty injury to our respected rival Whitney Grennon. Whit suffered an open compound fracture of a finger in a headfirst slide into third and had to be rushed to the hospital -- GrammaB and I got to see her later in the day and the prognosis is good, though she's in for quite a bit of rehab.
