St. Michael's College opened their 2010 season at Dot Richardson's tournament in Florida by taking on Limestone College from South Carolina (who had already played 25 games this season!). The fierce wind played havoc on both teams -- but it was soooo nice to be outside without snow on the ground!

SMC earned a hard fought opening game win, 6-5, with Stephanie on the mound. Steph and Kate opened the game with singles and each scored in the first inning to help set the tone for SMC -- and Tori turned in the defensive play of the game with a leaping catch in RF in the 5th with the tieing and go-ahead runs in scoring position. SMC dropped the second game, as Limestone came back strong. KellyE and Lauren split Game 2 on the mound. KellyL, LindsayB, and MegC each had two hits (including either a double or triple) on the day to pace the offense. All in all, a solid opening to the season!
