St. Michaels traveled to Pace outside of NYC and the weather held, allowing the teams to sneak in a doubleheader under threatening skies. Once again, SMC battled through close games but each slipped away late, despite admirable comebacks by the Purple Knights.

MegO had five hits on the day (and jusssst missed a grand slam with a loooong foul down the rightfield line), Ashley and KellyL each had two hits in the opener, and KateC crushed her first collegiate home run to spark a furious 7th inning comeback in the second game. Katelyn picked up two hits on the day and scored once (and was robbed on two other drives -- and KellyE was robbed repeatedly). Seeing the effort SMC (now 7-12) put forth was well worth the 744-mile round-trip for GrammaB and I ... Go Mikes!
