St. Mike's dropped the opener to UMass Lowell 10-0 in five innings as the Riverhawk bats were too much for the Purple Knights. KellyE and KatieW shared the effort on the mound while SMC played errorless ball but was held scoreless. SMC bounced back in the nightcap to win 5-3, with MegO hurling a complete game for the win. MegO had three hits in the 2nd game (including a would-be HR that got ruled a ground rule double as going "through" the fence rather than "over" it). Ashley and Heather each had two hits in game 2. Katelyn had a pair of singles and a walk on the day, two runs scored, an RBI, a pair of sacrifice bunts, and a ton of action in Centerfield.

It was great to see the Purple Knights come out swinging in the second game after a tough opener. With the win, SMC improved to 7-8 on the year and picked up their first NE-10 victory.
