With Hurricane Earl going northeast, we went southwest and spent a day of the 2010 Labor Day weekend at the Saratoga Race Track. The horses were beautiful, we had a hassle-free day (not traffic, no lines, no crowds), the weather changed about eight times but never went bad, and we actually won more than we lost … I took a few photos – they did a lot of interior grass track racing today, and that’s hard to shoot because it's set far inside behind shrubs. Fortunately, there were some full-track races and I kept landing spots on the homestretch turn rail that served me well for those. We even got to see Kentucky Derby Winner "Mine That Bird" run in the 10th race. Alas, given his finish, he either got tweaked in warmup or he was just there for appearance money ... They take about 30 mins between races and my attention span lasts about 12, but there's always something, someone, or somewhere to distract at the track, so it was a delightful day - made for an eclectically equine collection of emages ...
