Spongy conditions at the Complex pushed the 2011 softball season opener for MVU and BFA to "The Pit" in Swanton on a cold April morning. With many of my Oranges in one dugout and many of my Tie-Dye Goldens in the other, I wore Yale & SACI colors and took pictures of both teams! I've coached or caught 14 of the 18 starters -- great kids, great families, great fun. Makes me smile to remember the days of Katelyn and Whitney going head to head in the Pit. The game started as a tight pitchers' duel between Chelsea and Sommer until the BFA bats broke it open late. Steph, Eli, Sam, and Dakota all contributed fine defensive plays along the way. Cels has a fine day at the plate and Kat blasted a grand slam in the 6th to seal it.
