M, GrammaB, and I got to see the opening game of the State LL All-star tournament, a matchup of Northwest and Colchester. The teams feature four pitchers from the Rocket clinic that Kater works with in the winter -- with Dakota and Emi going head to head in this one.

It was a brilliant game, with Northwest jumping out 2-0 (Dakota scoring both runs) and Colchester clawing back to take a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the 6th (with Emi scoring a key run), and Northwest tieing it in the last of the last in dramatic fashion. Dakota and Emi each pitched complete games -- matching pitch for pitch through 8 innings until Northwest finally pushed the winning run across in the bottom of the 8th.
