Katelyn enjoyed a fine undergraduate career at SMC -- four years of varsity softball (shoutout to Heather, Lindsay, & Kelly); community service trips to Selma, Texas, and New Orleans; part-time work tutoring, lab prepping, and softball camp staffing; four winters as a volunteer pitching clinic instructor; summer research work for NASA, UConn, and U-Utah; some very special friends (shoutout to Cassie & Dom); enjoying skydiving, downhill skiing, and Flynn theatre outings; and some fine work in the classrooms, resulting in summa cum laude degree in chemistry with a minor in math. The accolades were as numerous as they were hard earned: Keleher Award for being SMC's top student athlete in the class of 2010; two-time ESPN The Magazine Academic All American Honors; NE-10 Conference All-Star honors (as a junior); Department Award for Outstanding Chemistry Major; the American Chemistry Society Award; and election to four National Honor Societies: Phi Beta Kappa (academics), Delta Epsilon Sigma (Catholic honors), Sigma Xi (Science), and Pi Mu Epsilon (Math). All of this sets the stage for her next adventure -- she's accepted a position at Yale, where they'll pay her to earn her PhD in Organic Chemistry. Go Bulldogs!!
