Friends have a new home on Lake Carmi and we joined them on their deck for a view of the inexplicable pontoon boat race, a beautiful sunset, and fireworks to celebrate the 4th of July -- in a year highlighted by their younger daughter's high school graduation and their older daughter's recovery from a serious illness. Lovely evening .. I'm not thrilled wih my fireworks photos -- and embarassingly, I ran the battery pack dry before the finale and had left the replacement in the car!! Rookie mistake. Still, one of the sunset photos was worth the drive and the time with friends was appreciated.
