Three of Anna Mayotte Gabree's pitching prospects play for the 11/12 Fairfax allstars in 2010 -- three that I get to encourage and catch for now and then in the winter clinics: Kayla N, Kayla M, and Kaitlyn B. I got to see them play vs VT's Connecticut Valley LL in the finals of the state tournament. They've worked reeeeally hard and it shows. Kaitlyn was strong on the mound, spinning a complete game and holding the strong-hitting opponents to two runs. Kayla M played a fine game at Short, coming up with a number of outs and adding an RBI double. Kayla N shattered the 2-2 tie in the bottom of the 5th with a 2-run inside the park HR to right. Kaitlyn then slammed the door in CV's 6th for the win -- with the 3rd baseman nabbing a line drive to end it. That knots the tournament at 1 game apiece, one final game for the title.
