The evening before Emily's graduation from The New Hampshire Institute of Art, we attended the NHIA Preview Party for the Senior Show. Emily's chicken theme for this show carries over from her year in Florence Italy - and it served her well, as nearly all of her pieces had sold by the end of the evening! What a thrill to see Emily in her element - and rubbing shoulders with her fellow-graduating friends also thriving in their art. In addition to the year in Italy, her NHIA studies featured an opportunity to paint in the Louvre in Paris, internships at an Italian Museum and a Boston Gallery, and jobs at two galleries on Martha's Vineyard and New Hampshire's Currier Museum. Amazing path this young lady created ... The preview was a tough environment for photos - trying to avoid being a distraction or nuisance to those enjoying the show means sacrificing some image quality, so these don't do the show justice, but they do reflect an evening we'll never forget.
